A 16th century half-timbered house in the Wealden hall style that formed part of Henry VIII's divorce settlement with Anne of Cleves. The interior of the house is filled with a variety of exhibits telling the story of the house, the heritage of Lewes, and life in the area since the 16th century.

  Monk's House
  

The simple weather-boarded country home of novelist Virginia Wolfe and her husband Leonard. Displays in the house depict the life and times of Wolfe and the influential literary circles she moved in. Many personal mementoes are on show in Wolfe's writing room.

  Newhaven Fort
  

The first coastal fortification on this clifftop site dates to the Bronze Age, but things have changed since then! Newhaven Fort was constructed around 1860 and is the largest fortification ever built in Sussex. It was used in both World Wars, and has now been transformed into an award-winning visitor attraction.
