  Benwell Roman Temple (Hadrian's Wall)
  

Benwell Roman Temple (Hadrian's Wall) There are two Roman sites located close together in Benwel, a suburb of Newcastle upon Tyne. The first is the Benwell Roman Temple, a small temple dedicated to the local British god Antenociticus. The temple stands in what was once the vicus, the 2nd century civilian settlement surrounding the Roman fort at Benwell.

Location: The temple is on the A69 at Benwell, just off Broomridge Avenue. The Vallum crossing is located in Denhill Park.

  Denton Hall Turret (Hadrian's Wall)
  

Denton Hall Turret (Hadrian's Wall) Denton Turret is the partial remains of a turret and an associated length of Hadrian's Wall. The turret is also known as Turret 7b. It is almost square, measuring 13 feet by 14 feet. Excavation has revealed a platform inside the turret, which is set into the wall to a depth of 5 feet.

Heddon-on-the-Wall (Hadrians Wall) A short section of Hadrian's Wall measuring 255 metres in length. The Wall is up to 3 metres wide and stands to a height of 1.7 metres in places.

Segedunum Roman Fort (Hadrian's Wall) The partial remains of a Roman fort established at the easter terminus of Hadrian's Wall. Segedunum features a viewing tower which gives good views over a site which includes a reconstructed bath house and a section of the original Wall.
