We had the pleasure of visiting here, and our information is based on our personal experiences We took some photos of this location that we'd like to share with you  

Acorn Bank At Acorn Bank near Temple Sowerby, the National Trust operates a water mill dating back to 1597. Surrounding the mill is a superb walled garden notable for its profusion of spring blooms, especially daffodils and wood anemones, plus a sunken garden, and a world-famous collection of culinary and medicinal herbs.
Historic Property: A partially restored watermill dating back to 1597 is featured in this sheltered garden surrounded by ancient oaks.

  Bewcastle Cross
We had the pleasure of visiting here, and our information is based on our personal experiences We took some photos of this location that we'd like to share with you  

Bewcastle Cross The Bewcastle Cross is a superbly carved late 7th or early 8th century cross shaft, standing in the churchyard of a remote Cumbrian hamlet. The beautifully crafted decoration on the cross is probably the finest example of pre-Norman carving in England, and bears comparison to the superb Ruthwell Cross, across the border in Dumfries and Galloway.

We had the pleasure of visiting here, and our information is based on our personal experiences  

Blackwell, the Arts and Crafts House A striking Arts and Crafts house overlooking Lake Windermere, finished by architect MH Baillie Scott in 1900. Blackwell is one of the best surviving unaltered examples of the Arts and Craft style buildings in England.

  Bow Bridge
We had the pleasure of visiting here, and our information is based on our personal experiences  

A 15th century three-arch bridge built by the monks of nearby Furness Abbey across Mill Beck for the purpose of accessing New Mill, a watermill belonging to the abbey, which once stood on the south west bank of the beck. The bridge stands on an old packhorse route to the abbey.

  Clifton Hall
We had the pleasure of visiting here, and our information is based on our personal experiences We took some photos of this location that we'd like to share with you  

Clifton Hall Clifton Hall is a 15th century pele tower, or fortified house, located in a small village south of Penrith. The pele is the only remaining part of a much larger manor owned by the Wybergh family. The tower was ransacked by Jacobite soldiers on the eve of the Battle of Clifton Moor in 1745, the last battle fought on British soil.

 Dove Cottage & Wordsworth Museum
  

Wordworth's best years were spent in this delightfully well-preserved cottage by the shores of Grasmere. Excellent guided tours are available, and the museum is replete with memorabilia, portraits, and writings by the famous poet. There are special exhibitions throughout the year.

Hawkshead Old Courthouse A small 15th century building which once formed part of Hawkshead Hall, owned by the powerful monks of Furness Abbey.
