Steam Trains in Derbyshire and the Peak District

Ride a historic tram through a recreation of an historic village street overlooking the Derwent valley. Crich is also home to the National Tramway Museum. On the site is a woodland walk and sculture trail. The Workshop Viewing Gallery lets visitors see trams undergoing restoration and repair work.

Steam trains travel through lovely countryside between Rowsley and Matlock. Good facilities on board including Palatine dining cars. Disabled access at Daley Dale and Rowsley stations. The station at Matlock Bath gives excellent access to the Heights of Abraham cable cars.

Steeple Grange Light Railway
Steeple House Station, by the High Peak Trasil between Black Rocks and the National Stone Centre, nr Wirksworth (SK288 555)

This narrow gauge railway is built on the old Cromford and High Peak railway branch line to Middleton. The trains climb a steep gradient through old limestone quarries to Millers Dale.
