Description:
A lovely C19th Coach House in a tiny hamlet in the Tamar Valley, an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty on edge of Dartmoor National Park.
2.5mi historic Tavistock, voted best country town in England.
A lovely 19th Century Coach House on the edge of Dartmoor, close to historic Tavistock and the Tamar Valley. The valley is of outstanding natural beauty, yet only 15 miles from Plymouth. Unfortunatley we do not have the facilities to cater for under 5 year olds. The Coach House was built on a site, which was originally an Anglo Saxon settlement in 850 AD. It was built by The Duke of Bedford in 1857 to his own design as part of a model farm, and it was sold in 1988 and converted to a high standard. In 1996, an adjoining property was property was purchased to give the hotel a total of 12 bedrooms, two of which have four posters with superb views across the valley to Dartmoor. The restaurant which has 40 covers overlooks the small walled garden and is open every night. We have a well stocked bar and a lounge area overlooking a walled patio.
