Family run coaching inn, built in 1734 by Nathaniel Newham, a successful London grocer, the Chequers Inn retains its eighteenth century charm alongside its twenty first century facilities and service.
The restaurant is renowned for its seasonal, locally sourced menu which changes daily and the bars and lounge offer comfortable surroundings in which to relax with a drink or two.
Set in the heart of Maresfield Village, on the edge of the Ashdown Forest, the Chequers is ideally situated for business and pleasure.
Close to Gatwick Airport (but not too close) and the thriving business centre of Uckfield (5 minutes).
The Ancient county town of Lewes and the elegant and historic centre of Tunbridge Wells are both thirty minutes away.Please note we do not accept children under ten years of age.
Check in on Mondays will be from 4pm between October and April.
