The current proprietors share over 50 years of hotel experience, including top London West End hotels, and have established a professional team of managers and staff to help make your stay comfortable and enjoyable. All 25 bedrooms are non-smoking and have been refurbished to a very high standard with quality furnishings and fittings. The 16th century charm still exists in the bedrooms with sloping floors and beams aplenty! This helps makes The Bear different to the rest. When not reserved for events or functions, the Queen Charlotte and Henry Addington Suites become the Residents' Lounge, an ideal place to relax in leather chairs and read a book, perhaps while enjoying an afternoon tea! This area is also ideal for enjoying an aperitif or liqueur before or after your meal in the restaurant. Every Friday and Saturday, come and enjoy quality national and international blues and jazz bands playing in the intimate surroundings of the 14th century cellar bar.
