Bed and Breakfasts in Scotland

B&B, Guest Houses, and small hotels

Staying a bed and breakfast may be the most enjoyable way to explore Scotland. You will generally be staying as a guest in the B&B owner's home, and get the personal touch that only a bed and breakfast can provide. When evaluating a B&B, you'll naturally want to find something in the right location, but also look for the star rating, and use that as a general guide to the quality of furnishings you can expect. And, for that little something extra, look for our own Heritage Rating. It looks like this:

Heritage Rated Accommodation and ranges from a low of Heritage Rated Accommodation to a high of Heritage Rated Accommodation

Use the Heritage Rating as an indication of the historic interest of each of the Bed and Breakfasts in our directory. For alternative accommodation you might also like to see our listing of Hotels or Self Catering Cottages in Scotland.

Counties

Borders - The beautiful Tweed Valley, historic abbeys, and stunning coastline

Central Scotland - Stirling and the Trossachs

Dumfries and Galloway - south west Scotland

Fife - Glorious countryside

Grampian - From the granite city of Aberdeen to the mountain scenery of the Cairngorms

Highlands - From Loch Ness to the splendid offsore islands of Shetland, Orkney, Skye, and the Outer Hebrides

Our favourite places in Scotland

1. The Isle of Skye - fantastic mountain scenery, and sunsets to die for
2. The Cairngorms - Britain's newest National Park
3. The Orkneys - a world apart, stunningly beautiful, replete with history
4. The Isle of Mull and Iona - life has a different pace on Mull - thank goodness!
5. Callanish stone circle, Isle of Lewis
