Llanspyddid
- St Cattwg 
At Llanspyddid on A40 just west of Brecon. Locked. 14th century nave
and chancel, late Norman stoup, 13th century font. The churchyard has
two pillar stones dated 7th-9th century.
Llanywern
- St Matthew
At Llandefalle, off the A470. Open daylight hours. The site has had
a church for 1500 years. The tower, south porch and north wall are 13th
century, some restoration in 15th century. Contains painted fragments
and rood screen.
Llywel
- St David 
At Llywel on A40 west of Trecastle. Locked. Founded in 5th century,
but is mostly of late 15th century, it contains a Norman font, and other
items of interest.
Montgomery
- St Nicholas
At Montgomery, Montgomeryshire, on the B4385/86. This 13th century parish
church has a 19th century tower, 15th century screen, and outstanding
17th century canopied tomb. The nave has a timber roof.
Old
Radnor - St Stephen
At Old Radnor on minor road off A44. The 15th-16th century Perpendicular
style church is sited on a high hillside. The tower has arrowslits and
battlements. The font may be 8th century. The church contains a 15th
century stained glass window and 18th century monuments. The 15th screen
that goes across the nave and aisles is considered the best in Wales.
The early 16th century organ case is also decorated and is thought to
be the oldest in Britain.
Patricio
- Patricio Church
At the top of a hill in a remote valley of the Black Mountains, six
miles north of Abergavenny. Open all normal hours. Dedicated to St Issui,
the church was restored in the early 20th century and is noted for its
beautifully carved 16th century rood screen and loft, medieval stone
altars, wall paintings and many other interesting features. It houses
one of the oldest fonts in Wales. Interior photo.
Penderyn
- St Cynog 
At Penderyn, on the A4059, near the A465. Locked. Some parts of a 1290
church survive; the rest was rebuilt in 1895. Large churchyard with
monuments and views over the mountains.
Presteigne
- St Andrew 
At Presteigne, Powys, on the B4355. Large 13-15th century church with
architecture dating to the 9th century. A Flemish tapestry and rood
screen are among other features of note.
