Shepherds Pie

Ingredients
500g minced lamb
1 large onion finely sliced
2 cloves garlic(crushed)
A pinch of mixed herbs
1 can tomatoes with natural juice
100g Petit Pois (frozen peas)
Round sliced carrots (optional)
A dash of Worcestershire sauce
A dash of red wine - optional)
Salt & Pepper to taste
1 tsp of Branston Pickle ( optional)
4 large sized potatoes (boiled, mashed with butter, milk and season)

Cooking Instructions
Put mined lamb on hot pan and fry (without oil) until brown.
Drain excess fat and transfer to a plate.
Put very little oil and fry onions and garlic. Once nicely sweated, add the minced lamb and mix evenly. Then add can tomatoes, mixed herbs, worcestershite sauce, branston pickle and stir quickly before simmering it for about 10 mins. Then add wine (optional) and season.

Preheat oven - 180 -190 or Gas Mark 4.

Transfer to an oven dish and add mashed potato on top. Sprinkle some grated cheddar cheese and cook in oven for 40 mins. Oven temp is just a guideline, ensure cheese topping is golden brown. Serve with salad on side. Voila!

Comments:
I add 1 tsp of granulated sugar while cooking the minced mix but that is my preference.
