Forest Side is set within 42 acres of beautifully landscaped, wooded gardens.

These gardens provide a stunning and fruitful home to deer, Herdwick sheep and lambs, red squirrels, a badger sett and of course rabbits!

A menagerie now you can be a part of!

Inside you will be greeted by a warm friendly smile and in cooler weather, a roaring log fire (of which there are four) which are regularly lit.

A guest of the long-standing house of Forest Side has the choice of three large lounges to relax, unwind and enjoy a drink in, with the company of friends new and old.

Our comfortable bar lounge with views of the surrounding fells is the ideal location to sit and enjoy a selection of home cooked foods from our Bistro menu.

Sweep up our grand staircase to find a range of rooms from singles to twins to four posters.

Alternatively, a short walk back down the drive brings you to Grasmere Lodge, where our self catering accommodation and some standard hotel rooms are to be found.

Directions
Directions from the South Take the M6 to junction 36. Follow the A591/A65 in the direction of Kendal. Bypass Kendal by staying on the A591. Drive through Windermere, Ambleside and Rydal. As you approach Grasmere go straight across the roundabout (do NOT turn left into Grasmere village). We are about 3/4 mile along the A591 on the right, just as the speed limit changes to 30 miles per hour. Directions from the North Take the M6 to junction 40. Take the A 66 in the direction of Keswick (North Lakes). At Threlkeld turn left (just past the White Horse pub) and take the B5322 (this is signposted for Windermere and St Johns in the Vale). This will cut off the approach to Keswick and leads onto the A591. Follow the A591 towards Windermere and Grasmere. Pass the Swan Hotel on the left. The entrance to our drive is immediately after Our Lady of the Wayside church on the left.

Upon booking we will debit your card details with a 50% non refundable deposit. Once you have booked your stay with us, our agreement is a legal contract and any deposit you may have paid is non-refundable.If you need to cancel please contact us immediately. For cancellations made within 14 days or more before your arrival you will not be liable for the total balance. For cancellations made within 14 days of arrival or by failing to take up the booking without cancelling you will be liable for the total amount unless we can re-let. For this reason you may wish to take out cancellation insurance, which is inexpensive and can be obtained from any good broker. Please note last check in is at 21.00
