Photos of Winchcombe

The George Inn, an old coaching inn that has been converted into flats. Note the lack of a sign above the door. apparently signs kept getting knocked off by passing buses!

Another view of The George, Winchcombe.

Looking through the arch of The George. Can you imagine riding your horse through this passage?
Belas Knap
This old half-timbered house is now a restaurant.

Dent's Almshouses. A lovely row of terraced almshouses built for Emma Dent of Sudeley Castle by Victorian architect Sir George Gilbert Scott.

This row of cottages on Vineyard Street is much photographed, and it is easy to see why. If you carry on down the street for a short 5 minute stroll you'll reach Sudeley Castle.

Another view of the cottages on Vineyard Street.

Winchcombe is known for the number and variety of the gargoyles adorning the parish church.
