Stonehenge Photo Gallery
Normally visitors to Stonehenge are not allowed to wander amongst the
stones. However, English Heritage, who administer the site, do permit
small groups to access the circle under supervision after normal opening
hours. I was fortunate enough to be a member of one such group, and
was able to wander anywhere I chose within the stone circle. As luck
would have it the evening of our visit was a fabulous July night, with
a glorious golden light hitting Stonehenge from the west. I hope that
these photos help capture some of the majesty and wonder of Stonehenge.
It is when you are able to stand within the circle and look up at the
stones towering above you that you start to realize what an incredible
engineering feat the builders of Stonehenge achieved.
