Beaumaris Castle photo, Beaumaris Castle

Beaumaris is a lovely moated Edwardian castle on the south coast of Anglesey. Work was begun here in 1295 under the leadership of Master James of St George, Edward I's master mason. Master James designed perhaps the perfect concentric castle at Beaumaris, though the castle was never actually completed, as the Welsh threat died.
