St Robert's Cave and Chapel
Knaresborough, Yorkshire, England
St Robert was a late 12th-century hermit who lived in a cave beside the River Nidd in Knaresborough, Yorkshire. Outside the cave is a chapel built by his brother Walter, Mayor of York. St Robert was buried in front of the chapel altar, and his grave was a destination for pilgrims.
