Between Glastonbury and Bridgwater, the small village of Edington on the edge of the Polden Hills and Somerset Levels, is an excellent spot for exploring this historic and beautiful part of England. The open landscape is perfect for cycling, bird watching, fishing and walking, and The Quantocks, the Mendips and the cities of Bath and Wells are all within easy reach. The Granary is within the grounds of the owner's' extensive home and is a super holiday cottage.
Pristine gardens conceal a solar heated plunge pool (available 1st May until August) by prior arrangement with the owner). The living space is open plan with lofty ceilings, feature stone walls and glazed doors which look over the garden. From the neat kitchen, steep stairs lead to the bright and airy bedroom on the mezzanine.

A peaceful relaxing week
We have just returned from a weeks stay at The Granary in Edington. The location is
very quiet and peaceful but there is an excellent local shop within 2 minutes walk of the property. They stock a wide range of food and drink including the Cook range of frozen meals. There is also a choice of 3 pubs within a mile range.
We received a warm welcome from Simon who was extremely helpful throughout our stay. The Granary gardens are delightful and we had both table and chairs and loungers. The pool was great to dip in to cool down, very welcome as we were lucky with the weather.
The Granary is nicely furnished with an open plan kitchen diner and sitting room. There is a small compact shower room downstairs. The heated towel rail was very appreciated.
Steep stairs lead to a lovely mezzanine bedroom area with a super king bed which was very comfortable. There is also a single bed opposite which can be separated by a screen if required.Although steep the stairs have clear markings on the edges and there is a night light to use in the kitchen to illuminate them.
There is storage heaters and an additional gas heater for chilly evenings.
The area is very pretty with plenty to see and do. We visited Dunster castle and village which was a full day and very enjoyable. We also enjoyed the steam train ride to Minehead. If you fancy some shopping the Clarks village is also close by.
