This lovely Grade I listed 12th-century church stands on a site of an early Saxon church, perhaps a Minster. The nave of St Michael's has been described as 'one of the great Norman naves in England'. In the chancel is a lovely Tudor monument to the Garrard family, and in St Katherine's Chapel is an impressive table tomb to Sir Thomas Essex and his wife (d. 1558).

One of the finest Perpendicular Gothic buildings in England, St George's Chapel stands within the grounds of Windsor Castle. The Chapel is the official home of the Order of The Garter. The Garter stalls show heraldic symbols for each member. Ten kings and queens of England are buried within the chapel, including Henry VI and Henry VIII, and more modern monarchs like George V and George VI. The chapel was begun by Edward IV in 1475 and finished half a century later.
