High above the estuary of the River Fowey stands the attractive country church of St Wyllow, dating to the late 14th century. In the churchyard is an unusual 14th-century lantern cross, and within the church are memorials to the Mohun family, including a 1440 brass to Thomas Mohun.

St Mary's began as a 14th-century chapel built by the Black Prince. It was enlarged as we see it today in the early 16th century by Henry Trecarrell in memory of his infant son. The exterior features magnificent, intricate carving detail, and inside the church is a beautifully restored pre-Reformation pulpit.

This pretty waterside church dates to the 13th century and has been used as a parish church, guildhall, and magistrates court over its long history. The nave was rebuilt with ship's timbers taken from the St Josef, a ship captured by Admiral Nelson at the Battle of Cape Vincent in 1797.

Built on the site of a 6th-century church founded by an Irish missionary, St Paul's boasts a wonderful 15th-century tower. Over the door is an ancient carved figure of a monk carrying a shovel and cross. Within are 17th-century memorials and a wall tablet commemorating Sir Humphrey Davy, inventor of the Davy Lamp, whose parents are buried here. In the churchyard stands a worn Celtic cross.
