One of the numerous historic buildings on Lincoln's famous Steep Hill, Harding House dates to the 15th century and was probably intended as a dwelling for a successful medieval merchant. In common with many houses on the Hill, the lower storey is built of stone, and the upper storey is timber. The House is now used as a craft gallery.

high Bridge is a unique medieval bridge at the bottom of Lincoln's High Street. In the medieval period, it was common to build houses on bridges, sometimes projecting the buildings out over the sides of the bridge. High Bridge is the oldest medieval bridge in England to still support houses. Much of High Bridge is occupied by a lovely timber-framed Jacobean inn.

A lovely stone building, probably dating to the 17th or possibly the 18th century. The building takes its name from the fact that a synagogue stood near the site in the early Middle Ages. An alternative theory is that Jews Court is actually built upon the site of a 12th-century synagogue. Beside Jews Court is Jews House, an 11th-century building which may be the oldest occupied house in Europe.

Jews House was built around 1150 and takes its name from the fact that it was owned by a Jewish woman named Bellaset in the late 13th century. Standing in the shadow (literally) of Lincoln Cathedral, are the extensive ruins of a medieval palace built by the powerful Bishop of Lincoln. The palace was begun by Bishop Chesney around 1150 and extended by Bishop Hugh of Avalon, who is buried in the Cathedral. Henry VIII stayed here, as did James I. The palace was destroyed in the Civil War and left to decay while a more modern residence was built close by. The best surviving feature is the west hall, which retains its undercroft.

Norman House was built in the late 12th century and was thought for many years to have been the home of the wealthy Jewish financier, Aaron of Lincoln. This is now thought to be unlikely.
