Much Wenlock is a very pretty market town full of timber-framed buildings. The town grew up around a priory founded on the site of a 7th-century abbey established by St Milburga. The 12th-century church of Holy Trinity stands on the site of the abbey church. Among numerous historic buildings are the 16th-century Guildhall and the 14th-century Talbot Inn.
