Huntingdon Castle

I hesitated whether to include Huntingdon Castle in this gallery. There are no visible remains of the castle above ground, only a high mote and various lumps and bumps on the turf to indicate the extent of the bailey enclosure. The Normans erected a simple castle here to guard the crossing of the beside the River Great Stour, and today the area is an attractive public garden.
