How did you spend your birthday?.
I spent mine getting up long before dawn and driving over Honister Pass to Buttermere where I set up my tripod by the shore and watched the sunrise.
It was such an incredibly peaceful experience, with nothing but a whisper of wind and the twittering of a few sleepy birds for company. You don't often have a place all to yourself in the Lake District - especially not a place as popular as Buttermere - but on this occasion I did. What a wonderful birthday gift to myself!
