A fascinating site combining industrial heritage spanning over four centuries, based around a famous waterfall. In 1584 Elizabeth I supported a secretive copper smelting industry at Aberdulais, and over time the site has been used for iron smelting, milling textiles and grain, and working tin. Tinplate from Aberdulais was exported across the globe, and many of the tin processing buildings are now being restored.

A medieval manor house known for its beautifully carved porch in Renaissance style, Old Beaupre (variously called Old Beaupre Manor or Beaupre Castle) is an L-shaped building constructed in the early 14th century. Not truly a castle, as it seems to have no real military purpose, but was intended from the start as a family home, and a very impressive one at that.
