Hidden Gem in Yorkshire
We stayed a few days in this beautiful homely cottage.
There are three comfortable bedrooms and the cottage is immaculately kept.
If you love to walk and appreciate fantastic views this is the cottage for you. It's in an amazing location, a home from home with all the amenities you would need.

Cosy, warm and comfortable.
This cottage was so homely we spent most of our time inside it. We planned to do lots of walking (of which there a plenty of options to do so) but we didn't get round to it because we couldn't tear ourselves away from the place too often. The view from the lounge and the 2 main bedrooms are stunning - really warm too. An open fire is always a must for us when we book a winter cottage so that was another reason to stay indoors. The lounge actually has door that opens onto a patio with a bench on it with that amazing vista in front of it, so summer time would be just as blissfull as Winter time at Ginnel Corner. There is a bookcase in the lounge with some really good reads in it, two of which was written by the owner - Chris, i'm ashamed to tell you I pinched 'Cuckoo in the Chocolate' because I couldn't put it down! Sorry, i'll pay you back next time I come to visit which I hope will be in the summer.
There are some really nice places to eat and drink, the garden center (the big one) is a must for breakfasts,- first class.

Staying in a beautiful piece of Yorkshire history.
We spent 8 days in this spacious but cosy 1820's weaver's cottage in Golcar. With three comfortable bedrooms, a brand new bathroom and a gorgeous sitting room; this cottage was perfect for our family of 5. The whole place was immaculate and felt absolutely like home.
But it is the view that blew us away. The cottage is set on the side of a hill and the front door is upstairs whilst the back door is downstairs. From every window (of which there are plenty) the view is a huge expanse of Yorkshire valley and moors and it Is stunning. The back door leads to a delightful little terrace where you can soak in the views with a cup of tea or a glass of wine.
The owners are immediately accessible and really lovely people. They helped us in many ways and we are very grateful for their kindness.
The cottage is in a perfect location with an amazing butcher, a post office, a grocery store, a brilliant cafe and even a museum only steps away. There are delightful walks where you can explore the little alleyways and stairs (or "ginnels") of the village all the way down to the canal at the bottom of the hill. And if you are lucky you can help a narrow boat through a lock!
We will definitely be back!

Ms.
We had an amazing stay at the cottage for 3 weeks while our home was under renovation, the owners of the cottage couldn't do enough for us.
The whole cottage was spacious, warm & comfortable providing us with every gadget & amenity we & our two growing boys could need.
The local community were fabulous & friendly & the local village provided us with everything we could ever need.
We sat on the gorgeous back terrace at all hours & all weather's & the views were beautiful & majestic,
We warmed our feet & lounged by the roaring wood burner on an evening imagining what fabulous stories the age old stone chimney breast could have told us about the calming homely warm feeling the cottage gives you.
We loved the cottage so much, we didn't want to leave & we intend on staying again & as often as we can
? we had a truly Magical time there?
I would recommend the beautiful 'Ginnel Cottage' to anyone who is looking for a perfect place to feel welcome & comfortable & to provide an unforgettable holiday.
?Thank you again for giving us a wonderful experience?

Cosy cottage with excellent views
5 adults stayed here comfortably. Complete relaxing place to stay with lots of things to do on the doorstep. The cottage itself was well equipped for cooking /self catering as well as being near some lovely places to eat out. Excellent view from the terrace at the back of cottage. A very hilly area so not great for anyone with mobility problems but we appreciated the info left by owners of local area maps . We did the Golcar ginnel trail which was good fun with a lovely walk along the canal nearby and starts right outside the cottage. We especially liked the Scape house Inn a 5min drive away and the local pub that had a bank holiday live entertainment mini festival. Holmfirth, Marsden and Slaithwaite all nearby worth a visit
