This historic Grade II* listed manor house is situated near the Devon town of Bridestowe and can sleep twelve people in six bedrooms.

A stunning 13th century Grade 11* manor house over three levels, located in lovely countryside a mile from the village of Bridestowe on the edge of the Dartmoor National Park. It is a very special and unique destination for families and big groups of friends to gather. It sleeps 12 in 6 en suite bedrooms plus library, a sitting room, TV room, music room complete with instruments, dining room, breakfast room with wood burning stove off the well equipped main kitchen, smaller second kitchen and a games room.

You can arrange for caterers to cook for you if you wish. There are 13 acres with gardens, woods, ponds and paddocks with wonderful views over the moors. Play croquet, eat alfresco in the lit barbecue area with chimenea.

There is beautiful moorland to explore beyond the manor, with opportunities to walk and cycle, and with a pub in Bridestowe village and lively towns at Tavistock and Okehampton there are plenty of eateries and shops to browse. National Trust Lydford Gorge is a stunning place to visit. Great Bidlake is a fantastic place to spend time with friends and family.

Fabulous house for a gathering
We have just returned from 3 nights at Great Bidlake Manor celebrating New Years. The house was full of character, extremely comfortable and cosy, and equipped with everything we might need and more. The kids had a great time in the TV and games rooms, and the living areas were perfect for generally hanging out. Location just on the edge of Dartmoor was stunning with easy access to walks - thwarted just by British weather! All in all perfect for a larger group wanting somewhere a bit special to hang out and celebrate.

Perfect for family stays & group gatherings
The house is beautiful; very cosy with open fires and lovely comfortable rooms. Large bedrooms with excellent bathrooms, as well as lots of space downstairs for meals, gathering and relaxing. Very well equipped kitchen that makes it easy to cook for big groups. The grounds are gorgeous and everything is maintained with great care and attention. Beautiful countryside around - we did a Dartmoor walk - and just a great spot all round.

What a superb house - could not be better!
Everything was absolutely wonderful - great bedrooms, fantastic en-suites, well-equipped kitchen, great sounding piano... Rabbits. Sheep. We've never used Sonos before - very nice. Comes with its own wood & walking distance to the pub. I can't think of anything that wasn't lovely.

Grand living at a very affordable price
Eight of us stayed for a week. It took a few hours to navigate the huge house. The rooms are all stunning, all en-suite and each has its own attraction. A great place to dine in once you get used to the cooker. Lots of little snugs for a quiet read. Everything worked. Well placed for all sorts of days out all within an hour. Well worth a repeat visit.

Fabulous house for sharing with friends or family
I booked Great Bidlake Manor to celebrate a significant birthday. My wife and I were joined by five other couples and the house proved to be a superb venue for relaxing and celebrations. The facilities are second to none - my wife did the catering in the well appointed kitchen and all twelve of us were able to sit comfortably at the beautiful period dining table in the large dining hall. All six bedrooms are wonderfully decorated and furnished with extra king sized beds and on-suite bathrooms. Plenty of fiction and non fiction books in the library together with local maps and guides. There are open fires in the lounge and dining hall which we lit and the underfloor heating keeps the whole house nice and warm. The boys enjoyed the games room with the pool table, dartboard and games console. Outside the extensive grounds are great for a pre-diner stroll and in the summer the large patio area would be great for drinks and eating al-fresco. Okehampton, Tavistock and Launceston are only a few miles away and worth a visit and Exeter is about half an hour away straight down the A30. In conclusion I would thoroughly recommend Great Bidlake Manor to anyone seeking a luxurious break on the edge of Dartmoor
