Garden: The grounds of Powderham Castle on the River Exe have been developed with the family in mind. The green deer park, studded with mature trees, is the setting for a steam railway, and Jousting Knights have been known to entertain visitors. More traditionally, you will find roses, a national collection of Dianthus, and a delightful springtime woodland garden. There is also a childrens secret garden, and Timmy Two the tortoise (successor to Timothy the first, who was reputedly the world's oldest tortoise at the time of his demise in 2004).
