Anne of Cleves House is a 16th-century timber-framed house in the Wealden hall style that formed part of Henry VIII's divorce settlement with Anne of Cleves. The interior of the house is filled with a variety of exhibits telling the story of the house, the heritage of Lewes, and life in the area since the 16th century.

The remains of a 14th-century building possibly linked to a Dominican friary stand on the eastern edge of Winchelsea. Under the roofless ruins are three vaulted chambers boasting a rare collection of late medieval carvings of ships. The cellars can be visited by regular tour.

Newhaven Fort was constructed around 1860 and is the largest fortification ever built in Sussex. It was used in both World Wars and has now been transformed into an award-winning visitor attraction.

Polegate Windmill is a Grade II* listed tower mill on the outskirts of Polegate. The mill remained in use until 1965 and has now been fully restored to working order. It has four sails plus a fantail and has three sets of grinding wheels. There are irregular open days throughout the year, but the mill exterior can be seen at any time.

The Royal Pavilion was the creation of George, Prince of Wales, later to become the Prince Regent. 'Prinny', as he was known, was a larger than life character, given to excesses of drinking, eating, and general carrying-on. One of his excesses was the Royal Pavilion at Brighton.

St john's Hospital was an almshouse established in the late 13th century to care for destitute elderly residents of Winchelsea. All that remains today is a gable wall, still standing to full height. In the fields beyond are the turf-covered remains of the medieval suburbs of the town.
