Danebury is a large Iron Age hillfort just west of Stockbridge. The site was built in three phases, begiining around 500 BC, and occupied for rougly 500 years until the Roman invasion. There are striking earthwork banks enclosing a roughly circular area about 5 ha (12 acres) in area.

An easy walk across chalk downland gives access to the hillfort, which was built around and through a Bronze Age burial site.
