St Helen's is a delightful church next to the historic castle of Ashby de la Zouch. The church dates almost entirely to the 15th century, when it was rebuilt by William, Lord Hastings, at the same time that he rebuilt the castle. The alabaster tomb of the 2nd Earl of Huntingdon lies in the Hastings Chapel.

St Michael and All Angels is primarily a 13th-century church with rebuilding in the 14th and 15th centuries. The church stands near the ruins of Edmondthorpe Hall and consists of a clerestoried nave with aisles, chancel, pinnacled west tower, and both north and south aisles.

St Margaret's is a striking 13th-century church on the site of an earlier 7th-century building. Highlights include the alabaster effigy of Bishop Penny (d. 1520), one of the last abbots of Leicester Abbey. Look for a 14th-century sedilia and ornate carvings of Green Men and other grotesque faces.

The historic church of St Mary de Castro began in 1107 as a chapel for neighbouring Leicester Castle. Poet Geoffrey Chaucer was married here, and Henry VI knighted in the church at the age of five. Look for the superbly carved Norman sedilia and a Roman carved stone set into the west wall.
