A unique survivor of Norwich's rich mercantile past; a Grade I-listed trading hall erected by a successful merchant, combining a warehouse and shop with good access to the river for goods transport. At the heart of the building is a 15th-century Great Hall with a carved figure of a dragon on a roof beam.

Visitors can view the inner workings of the pump, and see the huge gears up close, and also climb to the top of the windpump, for superb views.

Horstead Mill was an 18th-century watermill at the highest navigable point on the River Bure. The mill stood on the site of a Saxon mill owned by St Benet's Abbey and later by King's College, Cambridge. It burned down in 1963, leaving only the 18th-century brick base and millrace.

The largest and most impressive city guildhall outside London. Built in 1407 to provide a space for civic government. Used for civic functions into the 20th century. Now a cafe occupies much of the ground floor. Open access to the ground floor during cafe hours. The exterior features lovely ornate carvings and intricate flintwork chequerboarding.

Polkey's Mill was built around 1880 to drain the Reedham Marshes. Beside it is a steam engine house operated when the wind didn't allow the mill to be used. The mill and steam engine were in use until 1941, when diesel engines were installed. The mill stands directly beside the Wherryman's way path, on the north bank of the River Yare.
