Union Chain Bridge
Union Chain Bridge

A revolutionary chain-link suspension bridge built in 1820 to a design by Captain Samuel Brown. The Union Chain Bridge was the longest suspension bridge in the world and is still the oldest to carry vehicular traffic. It is made with wrought iron chain bars linked together, supporting a timber deck.
