Gardens in Suffolk
At Helmingham Hall a Saxon moat surrounds a historic garden of great variety. Within the bounds of the moat is a Victorian parterre of box edged with colourful borders. There are an Elizabethan walled kitchen garden and herbaceous borders, with herb and rose gardens to enjoy. Beyond the formal gardens is open parkland, sprinkled with ancient oaks, through which deer wander.

St Stephen's church dates to the late 15th century, and boasts some excellent flintwork, especially on the west tower. The church was made redundant in 1975 and now houses the Ipswich tourist information centre, but there are several historic memorials, including an excellent wall monument to Robert and Mary Leman, who died on the same day in 1637.
