There aren't many historic medieval monastic sites in Worcestershire, so this is a short addition to our gazetteer.
Bordesley Abbey was founded in 1138 and became a royal house shortly after. It is the burial place of Guy de Beauchamp, the 10th Earl of Warwick (d 1315), the man who kidnapped and executed Piers Gaveston. The abbey ruins are beside the historic Forge Mill Needle Museum.
