Yorkshire Top Trails
Posted: 2009-10-02Yorkshire is fantastic for outdoor activities, with two of the country's most beautiful outdoor areas - the Yorkshire Dales and the North York Moors. Yorkshire.com has a selection of free walk details available, based around four national trails that run through the county.
Try a Trail, allows visitors to Yorkshire.com to download walk details as pdf files, (you'll need the free Adobe Acrobat Reader to open the pdf files)which can be easily printed. Walk details include precise details of the route, transportation information, where to find refreshments, and a description of the route.
As of this writing, there are 15 downloadable walks available. There are 3 walks based around sections of the Yorkshire Wolds Way, 2 walks based around the Cleveland Way, 4 around the Pennine Way, and 6 around the Pennine Bridleway. Walks range in length from 4.3 to 20 miles, so there should be something to suit most fitness levels.
Yorkshire.com is also running a contest where you can win a biking and hiking break in the Pennines, at Hebden Bridge For more details on the walks and the contest, visit Yorkshire.com's Try a Trail.
