Scotland from Above

Here's a seek peek at a book that looks like it should be fun to browse; prolific Scottish photographer Colin Baxter is coming out with a softcover version of his beautiful book of aerial photos, Scotland from Above. Though the softcover version comes out on 15 October, you can pre-order through Amazon.co.uk and get 23% off the suggested retail price of the book when it comes out.

Anyone who has ever travelled to Scotland has probably seen Colin Baxter's books; he must be one of the busiest photographers in the UK. He produces a wide variety of yearly calendars covering Scotland and other UK beauty spots.

Previous calendars include The Highland Cow Calendar, Scottish Highlands Calendar, Scotland Panoramas Calendar, The Munros Calendar, and on, and on. In addition, he has published a large number of beautifully illustrated books, including titles on St Kilda, Scottish Islands, and an Illustrated History of Scotland.

Scotland from above is beautifully illustrated with photographs by Baxter and text by Chris Tabraham. Photos cover Scotland from the natural beauty of the Highlands to the great cities of the south. Given the quality of Baxter's photography in his other books, this promises to be a visual feast, and I'm quite looking forward to seeing the book in print.
