Rockingham Castle hosts Secret Garden play
Posted: 2010-06-27A great evening of classical theatre on the glorious terrace of Rockingham Castle. The Secret Garden is a children's classic, a book that our own children adored. Now the book has been adapted for the stage, and adults and children alike can see Frances Hodgson Burnett's poignant tale in the superb setting of Rockingham Castle, one of England's most fascinating and historic sites.
The Secret Garden tells the story of a proud and headstrong girl discovering some of life's lessons as a consequence of stumbling upon her Uncle's secret garden. This is a family classic suitable for 6yrs upwards.
Gates open from 6pm, performance commences 7.30pm on the Terrace Lawn. There are spectacular views over the Welland Valley and the backdrop of the 400-year-old yew Elephant Hedge. Light refreshments during the interval. Please bring your own chairs, warm clothing & picnic if desired.
