This deliciously attractive cottage originally stood in Washington, Sussex, on the edge of the Common. Ind dates to the mid 17th century. It was the home of a simple craftsman and contains only a single heated room, and a smoke bay - a forerunner of a chimney. It was dismantled in 1982.
