The Story Behind the Image - Liathach & Torridon Village, Wester Ross
Loch Torridon is a breathtakingly beautiful sea loch in Wester Ross, on the north-west of Scotland. I spent a week photographing the Torridon area, based in a holiday cottage a mile or so from Torridon village.
One late evening, after a long day spent photographing, I returned to my cottage feeling weary and footsore.
As I unpacked my car I looked across the marshy area at the landward end of Loch Torridon and saw this amazing view, with the peak of Liathach ('the Grey One' in Gaelic) towering over Torridon village. What an incredible scene and what an incredibly beautiful area.
