The Story Behind the Image - River Tummel Waterfalls
The River Tummel joins the River Garry at the Linn of Tummel near Pitlochry, Perthshire.
The Linn of Tummel is owned by the National Trust for Scotland and is easily reached from the neighbouring NTS property of Killiecrankie.
I've visited the Linn of Tummel several times but on this occasion, I walked there from the NTS visitor centre at Killiecrankie, along the River Garry to the suspension bridge and then along the north bank of the river to the Linn of Tummel.
Unfortunately, it was raining steadily - always a Highlands hazard - and the rocks beside the river were dangerously slippery underfoot. Thankfully, you can't see the rain in this lovely view of the waterfalls!
