Here in an idyllic village setting dozens of historic buildings from around Ryedale have been brought together and carefully reassembled. The Folk Museum helps preserve a way of life typical of Ryedale for centuries. It really is one of England's most outstanding museums.

This photo is a traditional village store, of the type that would have been found in most villages across Ryedale until quite recently. The store was brought here from its original home in Rosedale.
