Family attractions in London
London Eye - ZSL London Zoo
You could say that almost ALL of historic London qualifies as a family attraction, but this list is focussed on those places that might appeal to family groups more than others. Other related categories might include Parks and Gardens and Royal London.
The most popular paid visitor attraction in the UK, the London Eye is a huge wheel, similar to a fairground Ferris wheel on a massive scale. It stands on the South Bank of the Thames, by Westminster Bridge. Visitors climb into glass-shelled capsules that orbit high above the Thames, allowing superb views over the city and up to 25 miles beyond (weather permitting!).

It was actor and filmmaker Sam Wanamaker's dream to recreate William Shakespeare's original Globe Theatre on the south bank of the Thames. The realization of that dream stands in almost the same location as the original Globe, which burned down in 1613. The modern Globe serves as a multi-purpose centre.
