The Story Behind the Image - Cotswold Winter Field
We don't usually get a lot of snow in the Gloucestershire Cotswolds. My family have lived here for 15 years and in that time we've had maybe 4 'proper' winter snowfalls.
This was one of those times, when a dusting of snow turned the winter fields to white and draped bare tree branches with ice so that they resembled lace.
I took this photo in a farm field below the 12th-century church in Little Rissington, looking out over the Vale of Bourton to the village of Bourton-on-the-Water in the valley below.
This scene was on my daily walk, a route I took without fail, rain or shine, for the six years we lived in Little Rissington. I grew to love this view over the valley, but I don't think I've ever seen it look prettier than this.Britain Express UK Image Shop
