Spectacular location
This was an absolutely wonderful location for a cottage. Seatoller is deep in Burrowdale and there are umpteen walks from the doorstep. Unfortunately Seatoller's tearoom was closed for the off season so there was nowhere to eat within quick walking distance. The Langstrath Inn down the road in Stonethwaite is well worth the short drive however. The cottage itself was the perfect size for us. A cosy kitchen and living area, and two bedrooms and a bathroom upstairs plus an extra toilet. The cottage was really clean and the bathroom seemed to have been renovated fairly recently. However the kitchen could do with some updating and while it had most equipment it didn't have big enough pots and pans for family cooking so we found ourselves spreading cooking over two pans. There was a working dishwasher and washer/dryer which was a great help. The TV and Bose speaker were good quality. There was even free internet, although it was painfully slow. The electric heaters were mostly ok but we were glad we'd brought an extra plug in heater to make downstairs more comfortable. We also made use of the log fire on a couple of evenings. The garden was a nice space but could do with some work to make it more pleasant. At the back of the garden beyond the wall there was a stream which was quite good for the kids to paddle in and keep themselves amused - just remember to keep an eye on them. As explained on the advert daytime parking is only available in the off-season. This was a fine for us as we came before Easter, but if you visit in the high season you'll need to use the nearby National Trust car park. The owner was responsive and helpful over email with a couple of queries we had.

Wonderful holiday in a great location!
We stayed for 7 night in May at Littlebeck with our 7 month old baby and had a wonderful first holiday as a family of 3. The cottage was very comfortable and had everything we needed. Very well equipped for a family with a little one including highchair and travel cot. The washing machine came in very handy! The location was perfect. 15 minute drive from Kesick and some lovely shops and lots of breathtaking walks right from the doorstep. We found all the guidebooks and information really useful. We could have stayed for another week as there were so many walks and activities we wanted to try. We were extremely lucky that we had gorgeous weather all week and only used the wood burning stove once. The cottage was warm in the evenings and we made lots of use of the garden and BBQ. We would definitley come back for another holiday.

Cosy Hideaway
My wife and I booked this for a trip away with a young Baby and our dog. We have 2 older kids at school and thought it would be nice to pretend it was just us with a young Baby so roped in the grandparents! I have to admit I didn?t read any reviews before booked. I think that's a god thing because the first 2 reviews must have been from a different owner / timeline on this property. Overall we had a great stay. Keswick and the shops / cafes there is great and a short drive away. The honnister pass slate mine and the meres beyond are stunning. The house has a generous kitchen for a 2 bed property and us well equipped. There is a large wood burner with back boiler for the master bedroom radiator and the electric radiators make it very cosy when it's cold outside. In the living area there are 2 arm chairs and a sofa, a dining table with chairs and tv, dvd, freesat and obviously a scrabble set! I?d have no hesitation in bringing the whole family of 5 for as long as our littlest is in a travel cot or ready bed. Thanks for a nice early winter break.

Idyllic!
Perfect location all round, short enough drive to Keswick, plenty of activities on the door step, and spectacular walking starting from your front door! The cosy cottage was warm and cosy! It had everything needed for a comfortable stay and was spotless. The only downside would be the main bed is rather uncomfortable and noisy, and there's no way of keeping dogs down stairs as is requested. However neither of these points would be enough to put us of coming back! We can't wait for our next visit!

Infested by Wasps
As a previous reviewer has said, this place might sleep four, but you would be pushed to get four people downstairs in any comfort; especially after a long day on the hills. Overall, the cottage is pleasant enough... However, The microwave hadn?t been cleaned and was sticky with old food. Worst of all, the house was infested with wasps. Obviously, there had been some treatment as most of the wasps were half dead, but finding a load of wasps crawling all over the staircase wasn?t our idea of luxury. And yes, some of them were still active enough to sting you.
