A marvellous Victorian house built on the ruins of a medieval castle slighted by Parliamentary troops in the Civil War. Sudeley Castle was used by Prince Rupert as a base in the war; now only the shell of the castle's banqueting hall survives. In the house are mementoes of Catherine Parr, who died here, and Charles I, who might have wished he had. Worth a visit.
