The Story Behind the Image - Thatched Cottage, Chipping Campden, Gloucestershire

Our family is fortunate to live in the Cotswolds, one of the most beautiful and quintessentially English places in all of England.

This is an area of chocolate-box villages, beautiful cottages built of golden-coloured Cotswold stone, historic houses and drystone walls. I suppose it is no coincidence that it is also one of the most expensive areas of the UK to live in, but let's not get into that!

The historic market town of Chipping Campen epitomises all that is wonderful about the Cotswolds. From the remains of a Jacobean manor to a super medieval church and market hall, Chipping Campden is ridiculously attractive.

Tucked away off the High Street is this pretty thatched cottage. I've photographed it several times and I know from experience the best time of day and the best time of year to arrive with my camera in hand!
