Wonderful, peaceful location - another brilliant stay
Another wonderful stay at this ideally situated, spacious and comfortable house just north of Kendal, one of our favourite places to stay in Cumbria. Such a peaceful location, with fields (and lambs) all around, and easy access to fantastic walking in the Lake District, Howgills, Yorkshire Dales and all around Morecambe Bay. Kendal is a friendly town, with a good selection of shops and range of supermarkets as well as individual shops. The garden was looking lovely with spring blossom and flowers. We were delighted with the newly installed door out on to steps from the first-floor bedroom. Can't wait to return to this very special place.

Stunning location - gateway to Lakeland and the Howgills
A really relaxing and enjoyable holiday. The Granary is one of our very favourite cottages in this area. Set well off the main road in lovely rolling fields, we always enjoy visits to this welcoming and spacious house, which is so quiet and relaxing - hardly a sound from the main road, as the house is well off the road down a track. And yet Kendal with its great selection of shops is just down the road. Lovely to watch the sheep and lambs playing in the surrounding fields during our May stay. The views from the bedrooms are stunning - including over towards the Howgill Fells in the East The first-floor bathroom was completely renovated quite recently, and new windows and patio doors had been installed very recently. It always feels like coming home when we stay at The Granary.

Another excellent stay at this lovely house in great location for the Lake District
Another excellent and thoroughly enjoyable stay at The Granary, one of our favourite houses/cottages in the south Lakeland area - and beyond! The 3-storey house is well off the main road in lovely rolling fields, and the accommodation is spacious, light and well-heated. Always a generous welcome pack including nuts, homemade preserve, and Kendal mint cake to greet us in the kitchen. Wonderfully quiet, with hardly a sound from the main road, as the house is well off the road down a track. The first-floor bathroom was completely renovated last year, and the owners have done an excellent job. I think the kitchen may be the next room on the list for renovation. We look forward to a return to this lovely, welcoming home.

Lovely, quiet and well-equipped roomy cottage with new bathroom
This was our third stay at The Granary, one of our favourite houses/cottages in this area. Set well off the main road in lovely rolling fields, we always enjoy visits to this welcoming and spacious house. Always a generous welcome pack of wine, nuts, homemade preserve, and Kendal mint cake to greet us in the kitchen! Quiet - hardly a sound from the main road, as the house is well off the road down a track. Lovely to watch the sheep and lambs playing in the fields around during our spring stay. The first-floor bathroom was completely renovated earlier this year, and the owners have done an excellent job. We shall return as soon as we can!

A superb cottage
Set in lovely farmland, we simply loved our stay at the Granary. On arrival we found a welcome pack of wine, home made jam & Kendal mint cake - a lovely touch! Quiet, secluded and yet very easy acess as it is fairly close to a main road into Kendal.
