Tormiston Mill is a late 19th-century water mill, a good example of a type common in Scotland at that time. Tormiston was probably built in the 1880s. The waterwheel and most of the mill machinery have been preserved.

In 1732 General George Wade built a bridge across the River Fechlin, on the south shore of Loch Ness, to carry military traffic between Inverness and what is now Fort Augustus. The 'Wade Bridge' is an excellent example of a single-span humpbacked bridge. It carried traffic for almost exactly 200 years.

A spectacular series of flagstone steps descend a sheer cliff to a small harbour. Are there 360 steps? 330? No one seems sure. Even when they were built is a mystery, but it seems likely they were created in the early 18th century by a local captain.
