Brechin Castle is an early 18th-century country house, home of the Earls of Dalhousie for over 250 years. The castle is built to an irregular rectangular plan, with a turreted central block overlooking a central courtyard. It stands on a formerly moated site above the River Southesk. The interiors feature richly panelled rooms with an extensive collection of fine art and furniture.

Dunninald is a castellated country house in a marvellous location overlooking Boddin Point on the east coast of Scotland, near Montrose. There has been a settlement here since at least the Iron Age. The name Dunninald comes from the Gaelic for Dun - ard, meaning a castle in a high place. A more common local name is Black Jack, a term whose origins are lost in the mists of time.

Monzie Castle is really two historic buildings joined together. The oldest part of the castle is a three-storey, L-shaped early 17th-century tower house, while the newer part is a castellated country house built in 1795.
