Ben Lawers Nature Reserve covers over 8000 acres and includes Perthshire's highest mountain at almost 4000 ft. The reserve takes in 7 Munros (mountains over 3000 feet). The area attracts walkers of all skill levels and botanists drawn by the wide array of arctic-alpine plants, among them many rare species.

In 1787 poet Robert Burns visited the waterfalls at Den of Moness, on the edge of Aberfeldy. He was inspired by the natural beauty of the falls and the surrounding woodlands to write 'The Birks of Aberfeldy'. The woodland was named for the poem, and is now a nature reserve with trails beside the waterfalls and through wonderful woodland.

Falls of Bruar is a series of waterfalls on Bruar Water, near Blair Atholl, set in picturesque woodland planted by the Duke of Atholl and inspired by a Robert Burns poem. A trail leads to a viewing platform overlooking the lower falls and a scenic bridge, while further trails climb to the much higher upper falls.
